"Russell Has Died"

Last night, while sitting in a circle group of like-minded people who were working to develop their sixth sense, I received a message for Vicky. The message was that there would be a man coming to her who just adored her.  He was commenting on how small her waist was and how perfect everything about her was. I told Vicky he was sincere and had no ulterior motive such as trying to get her in bed. I thought I saw them slow dancing together. The man thinks she was a Goddess and admired her in every way.

As most of you know, I work with my eyes closed. The room was dimly lit and I heard Vicky say in a loud forceful voice heavy with Cajun undertones, “Oh no! I’m not having no drunk ole man pawing all over me!” She jumped out of her chair because it made her feel so uncomfortable. I didn’t even know what she was doing, but she rearranged her chair or something to that effect and created quite a stir.

Without opening my eyes I said, “Vicky! Listen to yourself! I am saying he has a good heart and pure intentions and who said he was drunk?”

Vicky teaches this class. It is her Thursday night Intuitive Development Circle where we are connecting to our intuition in a safe, loving, positive atmosphere. She tells people to receive the message that someone gives and say, “Thank you.” Her reaction was not what I had expected! I had to work at getting her to hear me when I said he felt good to me and I didn’t feel any ill intent.  When she settled down I said, “Look, I’m just trying to deliver a message here.”  She laughed apologetically and said, “Thank you.  I accept your message.”

This morning I am sitting at my laptop, when I hear Spirit say to me, “Russell has died.” Without giving any thought to it, I do what I always do -- when Spirit delivers random messages and I don’t know where they go, I will text it to Vicky. When a similar message pops up again, I will know and Vicky will also remind me what I have received.  This is my way to not only keep track, but to get a time and date stamp on it so I can refer to it if necessary.

Her normal response is “ok” or “I wonder who that is for?” This time she said, “Oh no! I have a friend named Russell who has been sick! I’ll check on him now.” A few minutes went by and she wrote, “Russell has passed.  His funeral was last week.” I said, “Well he wants you to know that he made it to the other side just fine. He seems to adore you!”

Then it hit me! I said, “Vicky could this be the energy of the man that I told you was coming for you?” She declared, “Yes most definitely!” She said he was an older man in his 60’s (As I am sitting here writing, he says to me “Grand Paw”). She said he was usually drunk by sundown every Sunday when they would go dance. She said he smelled heavily of stale cigarette smoke. She would always go over and say hello and give him a hug. I told her he appreciates the kindness you showed him and he loved you from a distance. She explained how he would always tell her how beautiful she was and how perfect and would lay the compliments on heavily. I said, “Well he meant it!”

So, as it turns out, Vicky and I were both right.  She didn’t want “no drunk ole man” and I said he was “coming for her”. He showed up today!

Be kind to people. They will carry that moment of kindness with them forever…even to the other side.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Help Jim Come Through

Dealing with the loss of people we love can be the most difficult experience of our lives.  It takes time and prayer to let go of people we love when it is their time to die.  Even though I am a medium and I see proof everyday by passing along messages to people from their loved ones including their pets, I too have to deal with a broken heart on many occasions from various types of loss, even though I understand, my heart remains heavy.

Spirit can begin giving you proof that your loved ones are still around you.  This proof will lead to a shift in the way you feel which allows giant steps towards finding your own path to spiritual development.

The following is a note I received from one of my clients.  I often hear from people I have read for.  This note describes how Spirit can find ways to show up in different ways.

i just wanted to share a cool thing that happend to me last night. I was watching the CMA awards when Miranda Lambert won the award for her song "Over You". She came up to the podium with her husband Blake Shelton who wrote the song. He wrote it about the deaths of his Father and Brother. During his thank you speech, Miranda was bawling almost uncontrolably which, of course made me think of the loss of my dad and brother....it upset me a bit seeing her cry and because I knew EXACTLY what that feels like, so I got up and went to my room to fold clothes. After I was in there about 3 min folding clothes, my right bedside lamp (the side I sleep on) went off by itself while I was standing near it. I figured the bulb blew out (although it didn't make that sound) so I didn't mess with it since the other lamp was on and I could see. It stayed off about a minute and a half and then came back on by itself when I walked over near it again to put the folded clothes away. I immediately felt like my brother was there. I didn't feel my Dad, but I definitely felt Jim.
I just stopped, politely said "Thank you, I love you too." It was a neat moment and I just wanted to share it with you.

It's All In The Family

I have been trying to recall all of my memories of seeing the green glow that seemingly emits from my body.  Fortunately, others have seen it around me too.  I am not just Crazy Pants talking about a green light that glows.  It looks just like a glow stick that is used to light the way in darkness—or whatever those things were designed for.  I used to dismiss it when I was told that I was a physical phenomena medium, which means that things happen when I connect with Spirit…lights flash on and off, candles re-light wicks that had been completely snuffed out.  Then there is also this green glow emitting from my feet when I was alone in the dark. Others have also seen it when I was sitting in the dark in a circle group of mediums.  All of that became easy to understand—accepting that I am a conduit for the non-physical to show their presence. Then something happened when we were visiting at my son’s house in West Virginia.

My daughter-in-law is someone that I love.  I don’t just love her, I like her, which is saying a lot more than simply saying I love her.  She is the kind of girl I would hang out with and get in trouble with in some way if we were just friends and had no responsibilities.  Natalie not only is fun, but she is smart, and she is a very deep thinker.  When she had leisure time before she became a mother of two small children, she read a lot.  Her ability to spell correctly is much better than mine.  She is passionate about women’s rights, gay rights, and justice for all.  I simply admire and enjoy her.  She and I find the same things funny.

I have such fun teaching her children bad stuff that she resents, but she will be nice and just go along with it.  I don’t teach them bad words, but I do teach them mischievous things.

Once while she was out at the grocery, my 3-year-old grand daughter, my 14-year-old grand daughter and I had a wedding with toilet paper.  It was great fun! Her face was a look of shock when she came in the door and saw toilet paper hanging from all the light fixtures and the stair well. Ava was the bride, dressed from head to toe in all white Charmin.

Natalie did scream at me once because she found Coca-Cola in Cooper’s sippy cup, but if ever you had been left alone with that breast-fed child, and you aren’t lactating, you would give him Coke too—anything to stop the screaming!

Once the Disney cops came to our hotel room when Natalie and my son tried to slip out by themselves for a few hours.  Cooper woke up, and OMG people apparently were calling the front desk of the Disney resort where we were about the crying baby.  Security came knocking on our door. If I had had a Coke then, Mickey, Minnie and the whole Disney gang would have given it to him straight from the soda can!  Although Natalie can and does resent some of the mother in law things I do, we have never really had a cross word between us.

Recently Charlie and I were there in their home visiting when in the middle of the afternoon, Natalie somewhat glided into the room (possibly floated—I didn’t notice if her feet were touching the ground) when she said, “Can anyone tell me why Ron’s sock drawer is glowing green?”  My heart skipped a beat.  She was really pale, sheepish in color, and still holding folded socks.  I said “Oh no! I know exactly what you are talking about.” I described and showed her what I thought she had seen, and she said, “Exactly!” She went on to explain how she tried to find the source but couldn’t. It was then she realized it was unexplainable.

Natalie is a Licensed Practical Nurse, and she always remains calm when there is an emergency.  I, on the other hand, am the last person my daughter would want to have in the room if she is giving birth, or experiencing anything else that involves pain, because I would literally be freaking out.  I could see that Natalie was affected by what she had seen. She was trying to understand and at the same time shake off what had just happened.

My daughter also experienced this round ball of green glow hovering over her face one night while sleeping in an old home in Atlanta.  She told me that she was on the sofa for the night and woke up to see this ball of glow hovering over her face.  She placed her hand over it, and it would be covered up.  She removed her hand, and it was still floating there.  She sat up and away from it and tried to figure out where it was coming from.  She said that she watched it float up and behind the sofa and disappear.

When I Google or Wikipedia “Green glow” or “ectoplasm” there are all types of things that appear—most were made up in Hollywood.  I have yet to find any reasonable explanation for the paranormal light that hovers over and around my bed at times and in other places like Ron’s sock drawer.

Truthfully I believe it is Spirit.  It is not negative.  I am so confused as to why and how it forms. It is not a substance—it is light. It feels kind and loving—not scary or harmful.  It is simply another way of Spirit trying to get our attention.

"Stampede"

I have a cousin that recently died unexpectedly. Even though he was about to have his 70th birthday he was very fit.  He was a physical therapist who worked out three times a week.  He had never smoked.  He ate all the right things.  This was not the body of a man you would expect to die early from natural causes.

The morning of his death, I sent a text to a fellow sixth sensory buddy, the kind of person you want to surround yourself with; who supports you trusting your vibes.   When I get a message and I don’t know where it goes, I like to tell someone about it.  At 1:16 PM on September 18th I sent her a text, “Someone in Spirit just said to me ‘a tree fell on him’.”   Moments later I sent her another text. “I just heard ‘Momma’.”  Around 7:00 PM that same day, I received a call from my sister that Johnny had died that afternoon while out taking a walk.

Today, nine days later, my family in Alabama called to tell me that the coroner report said Johnny had died from a massive heart attack.  I can imagine it felt like a crushing pain in his chest while out walking, possibly feeling like “a tree fell on him”. His Mother, whom he called “Momma”, was my favorite aunt.  There were a couple of times in my life growing up when my mother was sick that I had to go live with my Aunt Helen and Uncle John.  Johnny was older and was away in college when I was in elementary school living with his parents.

After Johnny passed Charlie and I traveled to Alabama for the funeral. That morning as I was getting ready in the bathroom, I heard, “stampede”.  Johnny had a really dry wit.  Most people didn’t know it was time to laugh when he thought he was being funny.  I just assumed the word I had received was his way of telling me it was going to be a really big funeral.

We arrived at the funeral home about 45 minutes after visitation had begun.  There were only about four cars in the parking lot, and I thought, “This is weird.”  There was no one there.  We walked in and signed the guest book.  Three hours went by before the service began, and by then it was standing room only.  The receiving line for the widow standing, who was in front of the casket, was wrapped around the parlor and out the door into the entry area.  It was shocking how many people had showed up and how they seemed to just ascend all at once; like Spirit had said, “stampede”.

Three ministers spoke during the service.  One of them made a joke that if Johnny was talking to God he may point out that he had three preachers at his funeral, indicating he was a good churchgoer.  Later while at the graveside, after the service, I asked his oldest daughter if I could have a flower from a bouquet to place on his Mother’s grave.  I loved my Aunt Helen and even though she was in a different cemetery, I wanted to go there.  I needed to have a conversation just as if we were having coffee and eating German chocolate cake that she would have made, and I wanted to place a flower on her grave.  My cousin Stephanie selected the largest, most beautiful rose from her Daddy’s flowers, and that was the rose I was to take to her grandmother, my Aunt Helen.

That night while taking my makeup off, standing in front of the mirror in my hotel room, I heard, “I’m going to church tomorrow.”  I felt like it was Johnny telling me he would still be showing up in church tomorrow, which would be Sunday morning.
It is my belief, those who have passed out of body often unexpectedly hang around for a while and are delighted to offer their thoughts if you are willing to listen.  It isn’t because they are not going to be with God, I just know that if you pay attention to them that you will see and hear evidence they are still connected to you and those they loved.  Their body has taken its last breath, but their soul is eternal…and “Yes!”  “They are in heaven.”

Life To Death is a Roller Coaster Ride

After a long summer of thousands of miles of travel I am back in Arnaudville and booking readings.  Looking back on the months of June, July, and August I see a theme.   Along with this theme were visits to three different theme parks.  I didn't ride many rides, but I stood by while my grand children rode rides and I watched.  I was an observer and at times a participant.  The desire for my summer was to not participate much in readings but to  take it easy and enjoy myself as I felt I had been working really hard.   It didn't quite work out that way.  Spirit continued to teach me.

I took more than one call this summer, with the caller starting the conversation with "Allyson something horrible has happened."  The last call I took like this,  I hung up then slipping down onto the floor from the sofa where I had been sitting, folded my arms flat on the near-by coffee table,  placed my head face down and began to cry.  I remember my daughter in law and Charlie coming quickly to ask what happened.  At that point I felt as though I never wanted to do this work again.

I very much believe that when we show up on this planet we have chosen our parents, and the life lessons we are to learn.  Sylivia Browne calls it "Our chart."  With God we choose when we are going to show up, what we are here to accomplish while learning how we may serve, and when we are going to make our exit to return home to be with God again.

When you come or call for a reading with me, I totally depend on my guides and angels and heavenly helpers to deliver the words that I am to say to you.  When I give messages from Spirit, I wish I knew to the degree that I should tell you "REALLY pay attention to this one!" If I did, would it change things?  I don't know the answer to that, or if we are even suppose to change things.

A few months ago, I was doing a reading for a woman over the phone.  She lives in Virginia.  One of the messages that came through was, "Tell the boys mother to keep matches away from them."  I saw one little boy sitting cross legged while striking matches.  I asked my client, the grandmother to go through her house and get all of the matches and cigarette lighters and put them away out of a small child's reach. I reminded her to pass that on to the mother of those children.  That was one small part of her reading.  I did not see a fire, I simply saw a small boy playing with matches.  I had totally forgotten about that until the morning I received a telephone call from one of her family members.  The voice calling me said "Allyson something horrible has happened!" Karen's grandsons died in a house fire last night."  They want to know if you knew, and just didn't want to tell them?"  I responded "Heavens no!"  Then she said, "Well the fire started in their room in the bed."  They do not know the cause of the fire yet, but the boys were four and six, and you had warned them about not letting the boys play with matches. That is when it hit me, that Spirit did send a warning about taking matches away.  "The family is asking to see you." she continued.  That is when I asked if I could call her back.  I needed a moment to pull myself together.

This wasn't the only death I had experienced this summer.  One of the most precious women you would ever want to meet, had been a client of mine since I first moved to Louisiana, was found dead.  She was beautiful, and in her 40's.  In her last reading I had asked her to go to her family members that she no longer spoke to, and make things right with them.  It wasn't because I saw her death, it was because I felt the other's would be leaving the planet.  Many years ago this woman lost the love of her life.  After only three months of marriage her perfect husband was killed by a drunk driver.  I didn't want her having to live her life with guilt and shame from not having a loving relationship with people that were important to her.  The message was clear, but I did not know the reason of the message, and that she would be dying.   Just as I didn't see two precious children passing in a fire.  I did deliver the message to keep matches away.

I was fortunate enough to meet with the parents of the boys before the funeral. It was merely by chance I was in the neighboring state of West Virginia visiting my son and his family.  They asked to see me.  Charlie and I drove to the grandmothers home where we met.  I went in thinking I was going to give words of encouragement and possibly pray with them.  What happened surprised me!  On the way there I sat in the passenger seat quietly when I began getting messages.  The name "Ruby" came through strongly.  I heard "Don't get water in your ears."  I saw a symbol for a hammer. I saw a symbol for a birthday cake, but the candles were all crooked not standing straight up neatly.  The candles looked more like a child had placed them on the cake.  I heard the word "porpoise" and I heard "nail polish".  I stopped taking notes arriving at the home,  when Charlie and I went in and sat down.

I was first greeted by the father.  He had gone into the burning house the night of the fire to rescue the boys.  He had been airlifted to a burn center.  His hands were wrapped in gauze, and there were deep burns on his legs and knees.  I asked him how he was and he told me he was on antibiotics and pain medication.  The entire family looked as though they were all in shock, and so very fragile.  I had prayed God would give me the wisdom and the ability to speak words of comfort and healing.

We all gathered in one room.  There was silence when I began by telling them that my intent had not been to come to do a reading, and connect with the boys, but now that was my inclination to close my eyes, just as I always do when I work, and tell what I am getting.  The grandmother was sitting there, the mother and father of the boys, along with another family member and Charlie.  I asked "Does anyone know Ruby?"  The grandmother said "That was my grandmother!"  I said she greeted the boys on the other side.  She said "That makes sense!"  I followed up with why would I hear "nail polish"?  The whole family laughed.  The mother said one of her little boys begged for his fingers and toes to be polished and not too long ago he had poured out all of her fingernail polish.  I asked about the hammer, and she said two days before the accident, the little one went though out the entire house hitting the furniture and the walls and doors and everything with a toy hammer." I asked about "Don't get water in your ears." That is when the Daddy began to cry and said that he was experiencing a bad ear infection, and he was always saying how he couldn't get water in his ears.  And the word "porpoise"?  They had just vacationed in Virginia Beach.  The boys were in awe of the porpoises and their aunt had taken them to a porpoise show.  The birthday cake, was because one of the children would turn a year older the following week, and there was a lot of excitement around his birthday that was coming up.

I was looking at the boys birthdays.  Looking at their numbers and realized one of the children was a double two.  In numerology that would mean, very loving and lovable.  I asked if this child was one who would want to cuddle and be held?  No one said anything.  I asked again.  Silence filled the air.  So I said, "OK, was he a little shit?" "If he was you can tell me!"  At that very moment, the pen I was holding completely exploded in my hand.  The metal clicker shot across the room, followed by the top plastic portion then the long skinny ink thing, and the metal spring.  I was left holding just the empty plastic bottom portion of the pen.  The parts flew across the room!  We were all shocked!  I said "Ok so he isn't a little shit." Everyone laughed and was startled! The dad said "The thing is, we could not keep a pen."  All we had to use to write with were the insides of a pen, the skinny plastic ink cartridge part." He took apart every pen in our house!  We all knew we had just witnessed physical phenomena and that the boys showed us they were with us.

That was the whole purpose of going and visiting with the the parents.  Their spirits came through and showed that soul is eternal.  The physical body is gone, but the boys in spirit are still around sending their love.  The father admitted he was skeptical prior to our visit, but he knows now that the boys are still around in spirit. The casket was closed and no one including the parents were allowed to see or touch the boys and say goodbye.  This visit they said, gave them the closure they needed to know their children are still with them.

As I stood in theme parks across the nation this summer from Hershey, Pennsylvania, to Disney World in Orlando, to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, I realized that life has been a roller coaster ride of emotional twists and turns during summer vacation.  Life to death will always be a rickety old wooden roller coaster ride.

We Do Take It With Us

I teach that when we show up on this planet, we choose who our parents are going to be and what life lessons we are going to learn.  We chose our physical body that we will be traveling in, and we choose when that physical body is going to no longer serve us—that is, when we will die.  I have peace knowing that when we move into the non-physical that our Spirit is eternal.  I know that we carry our personality, and our ability to be loving or not, into Spirit.  I have had peace with the concept of death, knowing that it wasn’t all really over, and that we would be connected to our loved ones forever.

Knowing all of that as a medium, I grieve when those in spirit leave their physical bodies behind, because I know it isn’t all over just because we are dead.  I can feel what the individuals felt when they realized they were gone.  I believe some people are grateful to surrender and move on to the next level that God has planned for them.  I believe others are remorseful and sad for the choices they made while in their physical bodies.  I believe there are those that are just downright pissed off and, if possible, are willing to argue their case as to why they should be allowed to go back into their body and straighten some things out before they pass.

The very first time I heard the name “Mickey Shunick” I was in Orlando.  I was just returning from 7 days at sea on a cruise where my phone had been turned off and placed in a safe in our cabin on the ship.  When I reached for it and turned it on, I was startled from all of the downloading of text messages.  I knew something was wrong but could not read as fast as my ears were hearing the sounds of the multiple texts. There were numerous requests from people asking me to try to help find Mickey.

I also had a voice mail from a close member of the Shunick family asking me to step into Mickey’s energy and see what I got.  Hours passed before I was finally sitting on an airplane when I had a moment of peace and silence.  At that time I asked for my guides to surround me and help me bring through Mickey.  I immediately saw a beautiful bubbly, blonde floating in mid air.  She was wearing a multiple layered gown, made of some sort of lightweight material, which surrounded her.  Her smile was heart warming, and she appeared not simply at peace, but happy.  I knew at that moment she indeed was in spirit and no longer in the physical. When I finally arrived into the Lafayette area and saw a picture of Mickey, I knew that was the young woman I saw.

Several months before Mickey’s death, I had gotten a hit that someone I knew and was close to was going to die.  I knew what family it was and mentioned it to a close friend.  I told her I saw who was at the funeral home and which of our friends were gathered there.  A few months later there was a suicide in that family, and it broke my heart.  All of my friends were there just as Spirit had shown me.

A few weeks ago a client of mine, and someone I now consider a close friend, was found dead.  In her last reading I asked her to make peace with everyone she needed to forgive.  I believed those people would be making their exit soon because they were getting really up in age.  Never did it occur to me it was the woman sitting in front of me—a client for years—who would be making her exit.

By doing mediumship work and hearing from loved ones who have passed, I have learned that the life you create here on earth is the energy that you take with you to the other side. Please try to remember that death does not free you of all pain and suffering and remorse and regret or joy and happiness.  The choice is up to you with each decision you make while here on earth, and remember, “We do take it with us!” http://www.facebook.com/allyson.schram

Grace Joy and Faith

It was the middle of the night. Out of a sleep I woke up excitedly to realize that I had a message!   It felt  good as if it came in a big box with beautiful wrapping paper and a fabulously hand tied bow.

Grace was an older lady.  I knew she had a sincere desire to do what was right and had a good heart.  I heard her voice on the phone and my spirit melted with her radiant kindness.  I get information through the vibration of your voice.  When she booked her appointment and I called in my guides asking to bring through anyone in spirit who wanted to speak to her I had a cranky, negative male energy that stepped up.  I kept thinking I was wrong, because someone with a heart like she had just didn't seem to go hand in hand with such a pain in the neck personality.  She identified him.  He had given me his middle name.  It was her husband, who was in spirit.

Another woman came to see me from Texas.  I couldn't say her name correctly for some odd reason.  What I have learned is that the people that are in spirit will start to change my words, and give me the symptoms or feelings of what they experienced before they made their exit into the non-physical.  The client's name was "Joe".  Every time I would speak her name, my mouth would say "Joy".  I would go back and read her name, and tell myself, her name is "Joe".  Yet my guides had me calling her "Joy".  I have done enough readings to know there is a reason for things to go the way they do.  When she arrived the first thing I said to her is "I know your name is Joe, but do you know who Joy is?"  She said, "That was my sister, her name was Joyce and she died thirty years ago."  On her paper where I had made notes before she arrived I had written "Joy/Joyce".

The night before my next reading in the middle of the night was when I realized the woman who was booked the next day was named "Faith". That is when I realized all three woman were a gift to me from God.

I am pretty convinced that there are some jobs that we step up to do, that are just not how we planned to go through life.  I ask God often to let me know if I am on the right track, doing what I am called to do, because I am thinking no one in their right mind would say "Hey God!" "Let me suffer ridicule and people question my mental stability so that I can work for you."  I believe this was a clear message when "Grace, Joy, and Faith" showed up.

Galatians 5:22-23

New International Version (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
